Drive via Fair Harbour

Many of our guests travel to Kyuquot via car. Vancouver to Campbell River to Fair Harbour to Kyuquot. The end of the road is Fair Harbour where we will meet you for a 30 minute water taxi to Kyuquot.

Exclusive Fishing Package groups that drive to Fair Harbour, are picked up and go by boat to Kyuquot. Qaayuuk coordination is by a phone call when departing Campbell River and possibly again a call from Woss, mid trip.

Drive to Campbell River

From Vancouver

  • BC Ferries Vancouver to Vancouver Island  takes 1.5 hours
  • 155 km drive from Nanaimo to Campbell River Highway 19 takes 1.5 hours
  • 226 km drive from Campbell River to Fair Harbour (via Woss) Highway 19 takes 3 hours
  • Fair Harbour secure parking, concrete boat launch ramp and gov’t dock
  • Check in at the store for parking, then bring your coolers to the dock
  • Fair Harbour to Kyuquot 30 minutes via water taxi

Typical travel time from Horseshoe Bay is 7.5 hours or 6 hours from Nanaimo.

Directions to Fair Harbour

Leave Campbell River on Highway 19 heading north. Travel through Sayward Junction and keep going to Woss. Travel time 1hr 30 min

TURN OFF at Woss and Call Qaayuuk Lodge (250) 203-2558. There is cell service in Woss but in close proximity of Woss only.

Get back on Highway 19 and continue north 15 minutes.

Turn off at Zeballos turn and head toward Zeballos.
Note: total distance from turn off to Fair Harbour 72 kilometers.

When sign says turn toward Zeballos DO NOT turn….stay right and continue to Fair Harbour. You will pass a 2nd turn into Zeballos but stay straight to Fair Harbour. Very soon you will pass through a tiny 1st Nations settlement and then toward a log sorting area. Stay right and go up the hill around the sort area.

Continue on the logging road and follow the MAIN road to Fair Harbour. The forks are marked and if not stay to the MAIN road.

At Fair Harbour, check in at the store for secure parking. Don’t forget to bring your coolers with you to the dock.
